Job Description
Summary
Postdoctoral positions are available in James Martin’s lab in the Department of Integrative Physiology to study multiple facets of cardiac biology and regenerative medicine. The Martin lab focuses on understanding how developmental pathways are connected to adult tissue regeneration. We use a variety of biochemical, biophysical, imaging, genomic and computational approaches to investigate the genetic pathways that regulate cardiac organ development and homeostasis. Our lab performs computational and wet-lab work, though the ideal candidate should have experience in molecular biology, genomics, cell biology, and/or informatics.
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Genetics, Developmental Biology, Cardiovascular Science, or related fields. Previous experience using the laboratory mouse and cell culture is highly preferred, but not required. The candidate will conduct research project(s), design and perform biological experiments with rigor, work collaboratively with investigators within and outside of the lab, be highly organized and communicative, and maintain a high work ethic.
