Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gel Scientist with expertise in hydrogels to join our research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in polymer chemistry, material science, and hydrogel formulation, with a focus on applications in tissue engineering and therapeutics. This role involves leading projects centered on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced hydrogel materials for regenerative medicine.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and optimization of modular hydrogels for therapeutics and tissue engineering applications.
- Design and synthesize novel polymeric materials with tailored properties and functionalities for regenerative medicine.
- Conduct thorough characterization of hydrogels using techniques such as rheology, spectroscopy, microscopy, and mechanical testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, engineers, and clinicians, to drive project success.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, and present findings in team meetings and scientific conferences.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in polymer science and hydrogel technology, and incorporate new knowledge into ongoing projects.
- Prepare technical reports, patent applications, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in developing hydrogel materials for biomedical applications, as evidenced by publications, patents, or successful product launches.
- Expertise in polymer synthesis, modification, and characterization techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with biomedical applications of hydrogels, such as tissue engineering, wound healing, or drug delivery.
- 3+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience in hydrogel research and development, with a focus on tissue engineering or therapeutic applications.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards for medical devices and biomaterials.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
