Job Description
The Scientist in In Vitro / In Vivo Model Development with a focus on histology will play a critical role in developing and validating in vitro and preclinical models to support our tissue engineering and regenerative medicine programs. The successful candidate will design, execute, and analyze histological experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new therapeutic candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct histological analyses, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and imaging.
- Validate in vitro assays to evaluate the biological activity of tissue-engineered constructs.
- Develop and validate in vivo models to study tissue regeneration and therapeutic efficacy.
- Perform in vivo studies, including dosing, monitoring, and tissue collection from animal models.
- Analyze and interpret histological data, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance project goals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments and results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Pharmacology, Biotechnology, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or M.S. with 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong background in histology, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Proficiency in cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques.
- Experience with animal handling, dosing, and surgical procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for preclinical studies is a plus.
