Job Description
The Fungal Molecular Genetics Laboratory at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School-University of Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil is offering a postdoctoral position to participate in the Thematic Project “Molecular mechanisms associated with pathogenicity and resistance in fungi: strategies for the treatment of dermatophytoses.”
The project aims to elucidate cellular signaling pathways regulated by transcription factors during interaction with the host, identify factors associated with the modulation of the immune response in the pathogen-host interaction, comparative analysis of transcriptomes, identify molecular targets for the development of antifungals, and validate strategies for the treatment of dermatophytoses.
Requirements: experience in microbiology and molecular biology; gene expression analysis by RNAseq and qPCR, enzyme assay, and cell culture. Preference for candidates with expertise in molecular biology of microorganisms and large-scale computational analysis of sequences. Candidates must be innovative, proactive, and able to work in a team.
Candidates should send their applications to Prof. Antonio Rossi Filho ([email protected]): a) a cover letter (1 page) describing your skills for the position and containing the names of 3 academic references with their respective e-mails and b) a resume (CV).
