Job Description
Summary
The Department of Surgery, Division of Abdominal Transplantation, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to perform novel clinical research in biomarker development to prevent rejection in solid transplantation. The candidate will be responsible for validating new molecular biomarkers, applying for grant funding, and presenting research findings at national conferences. This position will be under the direct supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Jindra.
Job Duties
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data, including clinical data, using GraphPad Prism, STATA and R.
- Prepares and submits IRB applications for newly developed clinical research projects.
- Conducts literature reviews using PubMed and summarizes the most current information relevant to ongoing projects.
- Documents and interprets experimental results and provides weekly project updates to the PI.
- Prepares manuscripts and abstracts for publication to transplant-related journals.
- Assists the PI in developing grant applications, including NIH T32 training grants, AST fellowship grants, ASHI early career awards, NIH R21, and NIH R01 grants.
- Attends weekly laboratory meetings and presents significant research findings during their designated segment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will hold a MD or PhD in biomedical sciences.
