Job Description
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Lu (https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/research/divisions/e/ex-hem/labs/lu), to study brain cancer, including glioblastoma, medulloblastoma, DIPG/DMG, and ependymoma, aiming to uncover the underlying mechanisms of tumor formation, recurrence, and metastasis. We are seeking highly driven and motivated individuals to join our dynamic research team, dedicated to advancing the understanding of therapy-resistant mechanisms, cancer epigenetics, cancer neuroscience, tumor immunology and therapy.
Research Focus
We investigate both cancer cell-intrinsic and -extrinsic factors, delving into oncogenic networks, epigenetics, metabolism, tumor microenvironment, and immune cell interactions. Our goal is to enhance the understanding of brain tumor biology and translate findings into therapeutic advancements.
Research Approaches
Our work leverages state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies including: genetically engineered mouse models; cancer genomics, single-cell multi-omics, and spatial transcriptomics; integration of high-throughput drug and Crispr/cas9 screens, and exploration of innovative therapies, such as proton therapy and experimental immunotherapeutics.
Recent Publications
Our research findings have been published in the peer-reviewed journals, including Cell (Liu, X., et al., 2024; Yu, Y., et al, 2013), Nature (Luo, Z., et al., 2022), Cancer Cell (Zhang, L. et al., 2019; Lu, F. et al., 2016; Wu et al., 2018), Nature Medicine (He, X. et al., 2018; He, X. et al., 2014), Cell Stem Cell (Weng et al., 2019), Nature Cell Biology (Hu, X., 2022), Nature Communications (Luo et al., 2023; Zhang et al., 2021; Wang et al., 2020), Science Advance (Wu, L, 2020), among others.
About Us
Our research group is based at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, a renowned institution consistently ranked in the Honor Roll of US News’ America’s Best Children’s Hospitals.
