- Posting Date: Newly posted
- Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job Description
Job Description:
The Hongyan Liang's Group at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin University, is seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to study the mechanisms of catalyst reconstruction in electrochemical reactions, such as water electrolysis (WOR) and CO2 reduction (CO2R). This position is supported by the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tianjin University, and there are other fund application opportunities
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, and characterizing catalysts for water oxidation (WOR) and CO2 reduction (CO2R), as well as exploring the catalyst reconstruction process during electrochemical reactions. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented R&D environment and demonstrate initiative in activities that will support your professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Synthesize catalysts for water oxidation and CO2 reduction reactions.
Measure the performance of synthesized catalysts for WOR and CO2R using flow cells and membrane electrode electrolyzers.
Perform material characterization, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, etc.
Conduct data analysis and contribute to the understanding of structure-property relationships in the studied materials under various testing conditions.
Document research findings, with an emphasis on publishing in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who have received their doctoral degrees from overseas institutions.
Proven experience in the design, synthesis, and characterization of electrocatalysts.
Preference will be given to candidates with publications in high-impact journals.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
A CV and a cover letter explaining your research interests and career goals.
Recommendation letters from at least three academic referees.
About the Research Group: Our research group focuses on the controlled synthesis of nanocrystals and their applications in catalysis, optoelectronics, and energy conversion. Major research directions include the growth and control of metal nanocrystals, photoelectrocatalysis, and the photoelectric properties of metal/semiconductor composite materials. Exceptional researchers will have the opportunity to access additional funding through our group's resources. We welcome applicants from a diverse range of fields, including materials science, physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering.
