Summary
Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a talented postdoctoral associate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position offers an opportunity to work on translational research projects in the field of pulmonary fibrosis using animal and primary cell culture models, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics approaches. The postdoctoral associate will be expected to build a publication record in high-profile scientific journals and apply for internal and extramural funding that will facilitate his/her career development in an academic environment.
Job Duties
- Workswith small animal models of organ fibrosis, primary cell culture systems, 3D culture systems, flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging, RT-qPCR, western blotting, gene silencing and overexpression.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong skills in troubleshooting experiments, data analysis and interpretation, basic knowledge on working with large data sets such as transcriptomics.
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, fibrosis or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare and present research findings at research meetings, ability to work independently and to work effectively within the team, strong skills in manuscript writing, and ability to work under stringent deadlines.
