Job Description
An NIH-funded PROJECT SCIENTIST position is available in the lab of Brian Perkins in the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic to study retinal regeneration in zebrafish. The focus of the lab is to identify the mechanisms that can induce photoreceptor regeneration in zebrafish models of disease.
I am seeking highly motivated, independent, creative, and enthusiastic individuals who have excellent English oral and written communication skills. The candidate must have received a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. degree with 10 or more years of relevant benchwork experience and an extensive track record of peer-reviewed, original research publications. The ideal candidate must have expertise in zebrafish genetics and vision research. Applicants with strong training in neuroscience, cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry are also preferred. Applicants must be familiar with zebrafish husbandry, transgenesis, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization. Compensation will range from $75,000 to $80,000 per year, plus generous health benefits through the Cleveland Clinic.
